Day 07
Current feeling: sad. As I am writing this last entry, I am in the plane heading back to Singapore. My 7 day trip to Taipei has come to an end. Argh! If only it can be longer.
We visited 国父纪念馆earlier the day. = P We missed our breakfast as usual, but the cup noodles from the local 7-11 compensated for it. This was propelled by Chia Cheh as his wife told us we should at least try Taiwan cup noodles once since they are much more delicious than the ones in Singapore. And indeed they are!!!
By the time we reach the memorial hall, it was about 10 am. We toured around the area for a while and took some photos, well a lot of photos to be precise, before heading back to 西门町 to get Lorraine’s watch.
We managed to find the watch Lorraine is hunting for but it was more expensive than the one offered at 士林. As we were unwilling to settle for that price, we went to look for more watches shops in hopes of finding the same model but with a more affordable price.
And guess what, as we were crossing the road, we saw a group of cameramen standing outside Sony Ericsson shop. We knew at the instant it must be some celebrity or somewhat related to that. As we approached the shop to take a closer look, what we found really made our day and made our trip more worth while.
王力宏 is gracing that shop later as he is the spokesman for a particular model of the hand phone. And as I know Lorraine is her number one fan, er… or should I say as his “wife”, I know she was must be going nuts.
The crowd grew as王力宏arrived and went into the shop. We did our best to catch as many photos as possible and equipped with 2 cameras, we went on to snap as many as possible. We stayed on for about 45 min and as Lee Hom was about to leave, we caught 黑人. He was there to support王力宏too!! Kill 2 birds with a stone!! We tried to snap a picture or two of 黑人but he left in his own car shortly.
As we proceed further, we saw there Odie!? The former member of LA Boys was there at 西门町 today to promote his newest album too. But I guess luck wasn’t on his side as it started to drizzle.
Since Lorraine was determined to get her watch, we decided to go 士林 to try our luck. And it was this time that the drizzle grew into a downpour. We got a kinky idea and that was to wear a rain coat. Since we have never really gotten the chance to do so in Singapore, we thought no harm trying so in Taipei.
We got dressed in our coats and I guess we were kind of weird as the folks were staring at us. But this did not stop us as we walked in stride down the streets. We even took a photo too! Haha…
We decided to settle for KFC as the rain was way too big for us to proceed further.
After our meal, we continued our hunt and luckily, we managed to find the shop and Lorraine managed to get her watch.. Feel happy for her too as throughout the whole trip, I think she has not gotten much for herself as compared to me, with a record of 11 shirts and 3 pants. Wahaha~~~~~
The shop attendant knew we were there once. He was really kind and gave us many SHE goodies. = P That is a really nice gesture of him. Perhaps next time when I visit Taipei again, I will purchase a Seiko watch from his as he mentioned most Singaporeans do that.
We took a cab back to our hotel and quickly grabbed our bags and left for the airport.
Oh! We took the same cab that drove us back to hotel, to the airport. The driver was really chatty and I enjoyed my conversation with him so much! In the conversation, he mentioned we should visit 花莲4 times. Haha… Roger, point taken note. Next time we should visit花莲. 九芬, 六福村, 小人国…(the list can go on).
I think my trip has been rewarding and fruitful. Perhaps me and Lorraine seems to get tensed at times in the earlier part of the trip, still, I would not have enjoyed this much without her. Want to thank her for being accommodating towards me. Haha…All the little memories like walking in the middle of the night, sharing the same hot tub, seeing me drunk for the first time, getting drenched in the rain, seeing me half naked with just a boxer… Hee… I will remember all this sweet memories!!! ^ o ^
I am really looking forward to my next trip to Taiwan. I hope I get to do so in near future.
For now, it is back to Singapore and reality. *sob sob* I’ll burn the photos from the trip and keep as my life time memory!
Taiwan, I love you!!! --------.@
