Took leave on Monday and went USS with my peeps!

Thank goodness we decided to invest in the Express pass. Think the extra 30 bucks was definitely worth its worth as we breezed through the long queues and managed to save much time.

Well, if you haven't known, you should now know that the man behind 9/11 attack is dead. I can't quite believe my eyes when I first read the message on CNN twitter this afternoon.

I remember I was awake in the middle of the night when the event happened; studying for my exam when the news was flashed on CNA. I even had to sms my friend just to ensure that it's not some kind of crude joke.

Talking about 9/11, I once did an assignment pivoting on this for a module which I attended in my uni days. Think the module was something about quantum physics and at the end of the module, we had to pair up wit another fellow classmate to write an essay incorporating the theories we learnt. It was a memorable experience as I was almost sabotaged by this random classmate. Anyway, here's the entry I did in 2008:

Character Introduction

Anthony James Macho

Background:

Anthony James Macho is a charming and promising fresh graduate out from Princeton University who has just joined the United States Department of Homeland Security. The September 11, 2001 attacks claimed the lives of both Macho’s parents, leaving him to be an orphan. He pledged to eradicate terrorism and preventing others from suffering the same fate as his.

John Bosons Macarthur

Background:

A veteran officer under the United States Department of Homeland Security. He has joined the department in his early twenties and has seen the transformations of Homeland Security itself. He is the mentor of Anthony James Macho and he is due to retire soon.
Dr. Marie Susy

Background:

Marie Susy is an Oxford Rhodes scholar who is an avid reader of Albert Einstein ’s numerous theories and papers. As a resident lecturer at New York University who specializes in both special relativity and quantum mechanics, she has been working on Laser and hopes to improve on its efficiency.

Dr. Edward George Armstrong

Background:

Dr. Edward George Armstrong, who specializes in quantum mechanics, is another resident lecturer in New York University under the Physics Department. He is always at loggerheads with Dr. Marie Susy as both of them are eyeing to be the Dean of Physics Department of the prestigious university. They are always seen demeaning each other during conferences.

Dr. Mohinder Suresh

Background:

Dr. Suresh is a professor from India who travels to New York University on an invitation by Dr. Edward George Armstrong, who is his good friend. Little has been mentioned about him and all that is known is that he graduated from Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Abstract

The year is 2008. It has been 7 years since the September 11, 2001 attacks where hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners (American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175) into the World Trade Center in New York City. The World seems to have moved on as restoration works are in progress to rebuild the former World Trade Center site into the International Freedom Center.

However, only one person, Anthony James Macho, who still refuses to move on. He joined the United States Department of Homeland Security shortly upon graduation in order seek revenge for the death of his loved ones on 9/11.

Prologue

Mohinder Suresh thought, it was all happening too fast and smoothly.

He knew what has to be done and there was no turning back now.

Date: 2 nd of September, 2008 (Monday)

Location: Darnley café, somewhere near the New York University

It was 8 o’clock in the morning. Rosamund Darnley Macho, the owner of the popular Darnley café near the University, opened the mailbox and took out a white postcard.

The postcard was clearly self-mailed as there was no stamp affixed. There was only one word on the postcard; “CONFIRMED ”.

Rosamund knew exactly what that meant. His real name was Anthony James Macho, an agent working for the Homeland security. He had long suspected that the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 attacks to be working in New York University.

After years of investigation, his efforts have finally reckoned. The postcard was the green light for him to proceed on to the next phase, the final phase of a six years operation . He knew he was close to disclosing the identity of the terrorist.

“Patience,” Macho thought, “You are almost there…”

Three days later

Location: An apartment in a suburb outside New York

“Ring ring…”

John Bosons Macarthur, a senior officer Homeland Security, was awakened by the telephone.

Due to retire next week, Boson did not want anything to happen, which might delay his exoneration from his post as senior officer-in-charge at Homeland Security HQ. He knew a call at two in the morning could only spell trouble.

“Hello.”

“Sir, this is Agent Anthony Macho. Marie Susy, the famous physicist from the NYU was murdered, about five hours ago. And a powerful accelerator in her lab was stolen!”

Six hours later

Location: Bosons’ office at Homeland HQ

Bosons was sitting in his office, frowning and listening to Macho’s report.

“It is probably the terrorist who became desperate and killed Marie Susy and stole the accelerator from her lab, and plans to utilize it as a weapon for terrorist attack. As you know, the President will be giving a public speech this next Monday and……”

Bosons thumped on the table, and interrupted Macho truculently.

“I am not interested in your baseless theories and I am surprised you have the gut to tell me that. How many speeches do the President makes every year? What makes you think that the terrorist will choose this particular day? Do you really think he will take action on this coming Thursday?”

“… …”

“Why would the terrorists become desperate? It’s probably because of agents like you who are not cautious enough to reveal your identity to them and antagonize them. It’s your entire fault!”

“Sir…” Macho’s voice was overwhelmed by Bosons’.

“What I want NOW is to arrest of the murderer as soon as possible. NOW GO!”

Macho tried his best to hide his anger which he has mastered the beauty of it totally. He had gone without sleep for 2 days and yet, he had to put up with the uncouthness of his boss.

In recent years, the little tyrant (Bosons’ nick name, for he is a very short and stout man) became more and more impatient and demanding, and sometimes, extremely unreasonable.

“Are you frozen? Go! Get out of my office!” Bosons commanded.

“Yes. I also want to have the case solved as soon as possible. The truth is I am more eager to solve it more than you! No wonder everyone in the department is looking forward to your retirement. Your attitude, arrogance and temper are simply intolerable. Hopefully we will not have to see or hear from you after this solving this case. Since you have bad health and severe heart problem, enjoy your last few pitiful years while you can!” Macho muttered to himself as he vacated the office.

The case progressed with unexpected pace and ease. It took only two days for the Homeland Security agents to locate and arrest the suspected murderer, Dr. Edward George Armstrong, who fled from the University the day after Marie Susy was killed. Apparently, the Professor was on his way to a grocery store near hide-out in the countryside. It was probably the easiest nab that Macho had done and he could not wait for the interrogation.

Date: 11th of September 2008 (Wednesday)

Location: Homeland Security HQ

Dr. Armstrong had been reticent for hours since the interrogation started but he was slowly starting to succumb to the relentless questioning from Agent Macho. It was evident that Macho was not going to give up till he acquires the information which he has been longing for.

“Why did you murder Dr. Marie Susy?” Macho questioned, “Is it because she has found out your sinister plan?”

“How many times do I have to repeat myself? I am NOT a terrorist. I am only a scientist. I didn’t kill Susy on purpose. It… It was an accident”

“You think I will fall for that? You murderer!! Give me answers!!”

“You want answers?”

“I want the truth!”

“You can't handle the truth!”

“Tell me now or you are so gonna regret it from me!” Macho exclaimed as his hands were clenched into fists.

“It was really an accident, a fatal accident. Susy was indeed a gifted scientist. She invented an accelerator based on the harmonic oscillator that could collide particles at speeds so much closer to that of light. It was a definitely deserving of the Nobel Prize. All I wanted was just to borrow it for my own study...” Dr. Armstrong said in a low hoarse voice.

There was a brief silence before Dr. Armstrong continued.

“Of cause, she objected. She thought I was going to sabotage her as she knew with the Nobel Prize, she will be so close to being the Dean of the faculty which we both coveted. But the fact is, I merely wanted to use it to study the substances which I have discovered. Well, I don’t suppose you get what I am driving at.”

Macho swiftly toward the Dr. Armstrong and declared, "Please do not doubt my intelligence! I was from Princeton. Are you saying that you intend to use Dr. Susy’s accelerator to study your new substance, similar to the LHC in CERN ?”

“Indeed, in a way they are. Susy’s harmonic oscillator accelerator is much more powerful than that of LHC and much smaller in scale. Its ladder operator will ensure that Diracnum collide fast enough in a jet event . I predict there will be a release of a great amount of energy which I cannot calculate precisely based on Heisenberg’s uncertainty . But I guess I can never have the chance to verify my discoveries and postulates now.”

“I see. So how did you kill her?” Macho probed further.

“It was really an accident. It was in a moment of rashness that I decided to take the accelerator by force when I accidentally pushed her. Who would have expected her to trip and knock her head on the table?” Dr. Armstrong replied. “It was really an accident. I had no reason to kill her. Officer, please believe in me.”

“So where are the accelerator and the substances you found?”

“Didn’t the police find them in the house I was hiding?”

“We received an anomalous call informing us of your whereabouts. We found nothing more than your own clothing and some money when we raided your hide out after your arrest. The accelerator and materials were no where to be found”, Macho answered.

Dr. Armstrong was baffled by Agent Macho’s words. He knew there was only one person that would know his whereabouts at that time.

At the same time in an apartment that overlooks the World Trade Centre.

Mohinder Suresh chanted for the last time.

He knew this day would come as he has envisioned since the day he joined al Qaeda. It was a duty bestowed upon him by his God and he knew God has been guiding him all along.

The invitation by his friend, Dr Armstrong, to New York University was godsend. Who would have thought that Dr. Armstrong would approach Suresh for assistance when he accidentally killed Dr. Susy in a quarrel.

Mohinder Suresh looked at his clock.

It’s time, he thought to himself as he sees the throngs of people that have gathered at round zero, awaiting for the President’s speech.

He took a deep breathe and pressed the “Start” button on the accelerator.

As expected, the Diracnum particles were sent colliding with one another at speeds close to that of the speed of light . As the particles collided, higher orders of elements are created and an enormous amount of energy is given off, and thereafter, a Big Bang!

15 minutes later

Location: An apartment in a suburb outside New York

Officer Bosons’ cell phone rang. The voice on the other line was Macho.

“Sir! An explosion was happened near World Trade Centre where the President was…”

Officer Bosons dropped the receiver before Macho could finish his line. Suddenly, Bosons felt an acute pain in his left chest. He had a sudden difficulty in breathing and collapsed.

Epilogue

It was a warm winter morning on December 14, 2011. Macho looked out from his office window at Homeland Security HQ and into The Century Square. He can still remember the day he last seen Officer Bosons in the very room. Three years had passed since the terrorist attack on September 11, 2008. Macho wished he had been more persistent during that last conversation with Bosons.

He took a puff from his cigar and sighed.

The fight against terrorism is still on.

Weekends... or rather, LONG WEEKEND!

My Good Friday weekend has been really enjoyable!

Started the Friday with the Meat Feast! It was planned way before A left for his Kung Fu Odyssey! Just can't believe that times flies! Anyway, the food was really great and, the beer was wonderful! Wasn't drunk as I had planned though I was sure I downed close to 3 bottles of beer. Ha!

The night was never short of laughters and definitely had filled with much debating over the coming GE. =)

As planned, went to catch Thor with the peeps at 3:50am. I could hardly keep my eyes open, and almost had to resort to using some toothpicks just to keep them open. Ha!

As expected and much anticipated, the movie lived up to it's hype. Definitely a must-watch if you are a marvel fanatic. FYI, stay till the end of the credits for some exclusive scenes of the coming finale; The Avengers in 2012.

Managed to catch up on my sleep when we returned back to B's castle in the land of far far away before we spent some time lazing in his swimming pool.

In summary, my long weekend started with a Bang!

I can hardly wait for this episode of Glee!!!

Just realised that this post wasn't posted. It's a week due...

Been a busy week. I can't recall much that happened but here's a few that are worth mentioning...

Went to City Space for a drink after a impromptu dinner appointment. I was there 2 yrs back after my last paper during my final year. Brings back memories. Feels wierd to be there on a weekday night but I could definitely do with a cup of wine then.

FYI, for those of you who are interested to drop by, a surchage of $20 is imposed if you wish to sit right next to the window, overlooking the entire Orchard skyline.

TGIF! My Friday wasn't quite the type which everyone looks forward to. I started that day with a site walk to some of the stations, KTB, XPO, COM & JUR, in the sequence as shown. By the time I got back to HQ, it was already 130pm, famished and exhausted.

Thank goodness I was able to find a lunch buddy despite the last min notification. Was half-way through my lunch when my phone rang and I realized I forgot I had an appoinment at 2pm. Ran all the way to the office, settled some stuff before rejoining my colleague at Mac. Of cse, my food was cold by the time I returned...

And to end of the day, I stayed till 6 plus waiting for a meeting, only to be told at the end that it was postponed.

My only saving grace for TGIF was the dinner at Sushi Teh. Tonnes of laughter and good food. Thank goodness we did not waste any this time round. =)

As for Saturday, I participated in some volunteering work. We have often been told that that there are many others that are less fortunate. I guess for rmost of us, the only ones that we will encounter are those that ask for donations along the streets. These people are mostly physically challenged in one way or another.

The ones that I saw today were slightly different; needy families.

The take home I have from this whole experience, appreciate what we have.

Just like what my ex-colleague who attended Shaolin said, "My fav food is peanut butter." Hym... What's yours?

I'm truly amazed at how fast time seems to be passing by...

It's already April!

Been busy with work ever since I got posted to my new and permanent department. This is the very first week where I did not bring any work back to do.

Sometimes I do wonder if I am a slow worker or I can't say "No" when it comes to my work...

I should really factor in some "Me" time before my work...

Anyway, this weekend has been a little more enriching; volunteered to do some packing of some donated items for the needy families. I'm pondering if I should volunteer for this coming week's too.

Well, my weekly dose of entertainment; MOVIE!!!

2. Attending farewell lunch & dinners... With 2 of my closer colleagues leaving, been busy attending their farewells
3. Doing O.T.almost everyday... I'm beginning to wonder if I'm not efficient with my work or otherwise.
4. Been trying to keep to my routine... My friend told me that if one does something ritually for 26 days, same time, it will become a habit. So I'm into the 6th day of my challenge.

Anyway, I constantly remind myself this sentence each day...

"Never be too comfortable with where I am."

Had a wonderful first day of Chinese New Year catching up with my relatives before ending the day with a 4 hr lan gaming with my colleagues.

Didn't know I was capable of enduring thr the whole night. Ha!

In any way, it had been enjoyable!

Oh! I watched Red Cliff for the second time too! Love the show very much and I went to find the OST.

Hym... I think I shd go read the book. Anyone has any recommendations? Preferably English reader friendly! =)

Thankful to them for remembering my birthday and giving me the surprise visit. I'm really in quite a shock when the peeps dropped by after lunch to deliver the cake. If there's anything that I miss from my second attachment in the far far away land, it will be the many lunches I had shared with them. And, I'm really glad I've grown to know some of my colleagues better thr the attachment.

As for my second cake... It's from ex-HQGT and ofcse, thankful to the Queen, for gracing the lunch yet again. Ha!

Well, the folks from HQGT brought me to... Sushi Tei! The very same place that my good friend and I had just a week ago. As usual, the food was ambrosial, complimented by the company of cse!

It was a simple affair; a simple dinner at Sushi Tei. But it was an enjoyable one.

Received a birthday card that it was written with the following message. My good friend said the message is very meaningful and representative and I must agree with her...

It's been quite a while.

The past one week has past by in the blink of an eye. =)

I made it thr the presentation. Though I didn't make the cut, I definitely gave my best shot.

My permanent posting starts tomorrow. Quite anxious abt it. The thought of having to start all over again, does puts me off but, I reckon it is this unfamiliarity and occasional transitions of being out of my comfort zones that still keeps my interest up in whatever I am doing.

One thing for sure, I'm starting to miss the days of freedom.

As my birthday is round the corner, I've decided to take a closer look at how I've celebrated my birthdays over the years...
Back when I was in secondary school, every birthdays were spent in the same fashion. I would treat my closer band members to Seoul Garden in Westmall. Seoul Garden was a great place as 2 of my best peeps then had really titanic appetites and dining at Seoul Garden was probably the most economical option. Of cse, the bill is settled by my parents as I would remember every Jan, my Mum would beef-up my bank a/c with more money in anticipation of this.

And speaking of my parents, every year is the same. A simple hong bao from them. The amount is always the same and as I grow older, I begin to appreciate this simple gesture than others. =)

I can't quite remember how my other birthdays were spent, except for the few memorable ones below:

2005:

For my 21st birthday, it was a really... "memorable" one. I was still in NS and was about to ORD and I so happened to be on overseas exercise in Thailand. My army mates remembered my birthday but the best they could manage, was a pandan cake and half a dozen cans of beer. Can't blame them as the closest we got to civilisation then was a gruelling 2.5hrs ride to some small city and the only cake they could find was a pandan cake. Hahaha! So I must say my 21st birthday was probably not quite the Big Bang which many would have had.

Other memorable ones would be...

2007:

My 23rd birthday was spent with the BA folks. Only got to know them better twds the later years and boy is this birthday one of a kind; a 3-day event or something. They booked a chalet in Changi and it was a night of fun, accompanied with lots of screaming. Ha!

Yes, the cake was literally on fire with 23 candles burning. I was told it was an expensive one too. Wat a waste! Ha!

Did I say the party was filled with lots of screaming? You won't be surprise it came from me after seeing this picture. I almost felt like I was being raped and I have tonnes of pictures as evidence (which I won't post or show)...

The day after the night of ordeal, I mean celebration, the same peeps bought another cake for me. And this time round, there was still 23 candles burning on my cake. =)

2008:

Celebrated my 25th Birthday @ Blue Jazz Cafe with BA folks yet again. Had tonnes of fun and everyone came dressed in black. Highlight was me with a pair of boobs from Ms Tan which she bought from Japan. FYI, the boobs were lychee jelly or something. =)

2009:

My 25th birthday was a much quieter affair as I've requested. I was pleasantly surprised when my 2 best peeps dropped by my place in the middle of the night to celebrate with me. I was on my bed when I received a call from them saying that they were at my doorstep. Thought it was a prank but I was pleasantly surprised.

25th birthday cake! 2 slices of chocolate cakes and 1 cheese cake.

I can't seem to rotate the pict. So bear with it. Ha...

I also remember having a nice meal at Tin Hill Bistro WineBar as part of my birthday celebration with a peep of mine. We dropped by P.S. Cafe thereafter for dessert then and that was my first visit.

A pity the restaurant along Sixth Ave has closed down. If not I'll like to revisit it again in near future.

In any case, it was a night of good company and good food.

2010:

Hym... I think all that I can remember were the numerous dinners I had.

Hym... I think time flies, yes, I say this just about every single year. Ha! But really, this year seems to pass by much faster.

Well, let me recollect some of the memorable moments in 2010. They are...

2. Having to endure the past 18 mths of work with the wonderful bunch of colleagues...

1. I can continue to develop my career. I hope I get posted to the department that I wish and do build the skill set that I want.

2. I can save more. Hope to hit my saving target and fund myself thr a Masters in future if possible.

3. Spend more time with my parents.

This is really going to sound damn dumb but I cried and cried when I was watching this show...

To be honest, it was just another random show that I watched when I was enjoying my lazy afternoon at home. I didn't know what this show was all about but as I went on watching I got a better picture...

I guess the scenes in the show were really moving and perhaps I could relate to some of them that I eventually found myself tearing as I was watching. It was interesting to see how the kids put on a front to influence how others judge and view them. During the course, each of them was giving a 2 min air time to start telling others who they are really inside and the starting lines were:

"If you really knew me..."

It made me recall of a similar course which I had attended long time back which also had a similar nature but on a totally different context. I do wonder myself, what will my version of "If you really knew me" be like...

In any case, I hope I can catch the next espisode again...

Today has been a good day...

Since I was on "official" leave, and my folks were at home, we decided to drop by my granny's place...

Been a long long time since I last visited her coz I wasn't ard for this yr's CNY. I must say I miss my granny a lot. I love most of all, her cooking.

If you see the picture above, it's ikan bilis that she will always cook and boy this is one simple side-dish I cannot stop eating. In fact, I love it so much I can have a bowl of rice accompanied with just these tasty ikan bilis and peanuts. Ha!

Had a nice chat with my grand and we shared a few laughters, together with my Mum too. My granny loves to recap some of the mischevious acts of mine when I was younger and the classic is this staircase incident...

She'll always say I'm so naughty that there was once I climbed the outside of the staircase in my house and because I ended up at the end of the stairs with no where to go, all that I could do then was to shout for, "Gor-gor, Gor-gor!" then. Hahahaha...

Not sure if you could follow me on this but it is definitely a memorable incident for my granny.

Anyway, I also met up with my cousins too. They're kind of like my god-sisters since my Mum adopted them as god-daughters. They're much more tech-savvy than I was at their age; looking at youtube and playing games on FB. And, they were super up-to-date with the most popular bands and were naming me these dunno-wat Korean bands... One of them could even sing some Korean song. Haha... The generation gap is definitely highlighted. Hahaha

In summary, it's a good day spent with my folks. =)

RSGT Christmas Dinner!!

Had my annual Xmas dinner with my peeps from work recently. Quite a simple affair as compared to last year's.

The spread of food was not as much but it was a delightful selection. And, I finally managed to bring my 40 pieces of nuggets as promised since last year. Haha...

I think this year's Xmas present is a very practical one for me. Thanks to my secret santa, I downloaded 3 iPhone apps for my cell:

3. 3 kingdoms game

Haha... And the best part was I got to share with some of the peeps too. So it was indeed a season of giving and sharing. =)

I think the best part of my Langkawi trip was staying in Datai Hotel. It was indeed worth every penny that I spent. Lovely hotel with superb facilities. The rooms are awesome with 2 vanity tops. The housekeeping was first-class too. Impressive!

Anyway, I happened to see a Sultan when I checked into the hotel as I've later verified with the hotel staff. Can't quite remember which state he was from but I remembered seeing him on Discovery Channel. Hahaha....

Summary, it was a great 2 weeks break! =)

No, this entry is not to tell everyone that I'm going Taiwan though I would love to. Ha

Anyway, I remember one night I was talking to my colleague when we were in Penang and he told me he grew up in the street opposite Shi Lin Night market. As the conversation went on, he asked if I've visited Yang Ming Shan during my trip in 2007. I replied with an enthusiastic "Yes!" and shared with him how my friend and I managed to get a hitch a ride from the locals and were treated to some local delicacies.

Little did I know that my colleague also loves the food there and he shared that he would make his dad bring him there everytime he visits Taipei. =)

Come to think of it, my friend and I were really very fortunate to have met the 2 aunties. They were so nice to invite us to join them for a meal then. I've truly experienced the friendliness and hospitality of Taiwanese. Ha

Alright... I've planned to blog abt my Penang trip with my peeps but I left the picts in my ofce com. So, make do with some of the pictures from my FB... Basically they are all from the night we went clubbing.

A pity I had this super migraine once I reached Penang which explains why I looked damn pissed in some if not most of the pictures... Ha! Fortunately the 2 bottles of booze in the club kind of subdued the overwhelming headache by a tiny bit. If not, I think I would have looked much worst in the pictures...

Think clubbing was pretty fun. Too bad there were way too many guys and few ladies. Nonetheless, we spotted a few nice ladies and one of them helped us took a picture. Ha! And, it was quite a sight when a couple was dancing really sensually onstage. *Pheweeeeee*

Well, as for shopping, totally no luck... I didn't buy anything much. Only bought a mug from Starbucks as a gift. Other than that, it was food, food and more food...

In any case, I think the trip had been a really fun and enjoyable one... understand much more of the colleague with whom i shared the same room, spent some quality time with my closest peeps at work, ate lots of food and walked almost 5km for a coconut, and most of all, learnt a new sport called KORF Ball. Though me and my colleague call it the Pussy ball. Hahaha...

It's quite a genuine funny show...

Anyway, it was great to have a brunch at John Erdos earlier in the day. The initial plan was to try the brunch over at Jones the Grocer but the place was already packed when I arrived. In any case, the food @ John Erdos wasn't bad.

My colleagues finally booked the hotel which we'll be staying for 2 nights in Penang...

Read the reviews and they are all good and very impressed by the hotel. That's really something to look forward to.

There and again, holidays are always worth looking forward to.

I can hardly wait!

Had a good day @ Work...

Ha... Think I came up with a really random idea at work yesterday when I suggested to my colleagues to each take turn to play a song on their laptop. The criteria was that the song had to be by Jay Chou.

And for 2 solid hours, we were playing his songs, one after another. =)

I must say it was really fun as everyone was really eager to get his/her song on the limited airspace that we had. I was also surprised to learn that my very English colleague knows alot of Jay's songs. Haha...

After lunch, we continued our repertoire but with English love songs... I think this little activity had been quite informative coz I've always wondered what songs my fellow colleagues had in their Ipod and what kind of genre of music do they listen to. I've learnt something new about them...

Anyway, I also finally got the list of songs which my colleague used for her ROM. Very very nice. And I've learnt one new song too... A very catchy tune it has...

Well, it had been a productive and informatie day at work... I'm kind of looking fwd to the next session.

Well, I've finally went to watch...

Hym... I must say the cinematography is superb and brilliant!

Perhaps is it just me but I did find the story a little draggy at times...

Nevertheless, there a couple of lovely movies lines that I like a lot and most of all, the shots that were taken in Bali... I can hardly wait for trip next year... er... August! Ha That's over almost a year away.

Went to attend the ROM of one of my colleagues at the Canopy.

I must say, this is probably one of the best ROMs that I have attended, not that I've been to many but this definitely left a deep imprint in my memories...

I thought the place was great; tranquil and with lush greenery and my favorite, the alfresco solemnization. And, the food was good too! Well, guessed everything was almost perfect if you are to ask me. I can picture having my own wedding in this similar fashion. I love the wedding songs being played. Shall try to get from my colleague. =)

Hym... Is it just me but everything I sit through the exchange of vows, my eyes will really well. I'm really moved every time I see a couple go through this ritual. Ha

Marriage is indeed a sacred gift.

Anyway, I think I am getting good at being sneaky, sneaking around. Haha...

Still remember I sneaked ard to do up my colleague's cubicle and now I sneaked ard to get my folks to pen down their well wishes into cards before passing them on to the coordinator. Haha...

A weekend of Chinese movies...

Haven't been to the movies lately but this weekend has been a watchful one...

Went to watch the following 2 shows, one one Friday and the other on Saturday.

Hym... Of the 2, I guess my pick would be the latter. I think the plot is not bad, and the CG's quite impressive too.

Of cse, Donnie Yen's fighting scenes in the former show is impressive as usual. =)

Anyway, dropped by Sunset Bay on Saturday night after the show for some food and booze by the beach. It's becoming a regular hangout place for me...

a little sad that I'm leaving my current workplace, to start all over again in another new place...

Though it may seem rather cynical and definitely not typical of me, but I guess I'm going to miss my days in _ _ _...

I think I'm going to miss the times where I would walk the long walkway to my nearest colleague and grumble on how I am left computer-less...

And at times when I'm in a mood of an extra exercise, I'll trod an even longer walkway to the land of princess-es to make merry... Ha

But really, I think I'll miss the bonding and camaraderie that were developed with the folks in my current workplace... like how I've grown to understand some of my folks better. And of cause, the numerous entertaining lunches we shared...

Totally random as usual... Anyway, I shd sleep now! Ha

I recently got hold of Brothers & Sisters Season 4 from a friend of mine.

Still remember how I would stay up late at night, glued to my computer screen watching one episode after another... Ha

Anyway, I really love the show; the plot, characters... And to be honest, this is one show that really make my eyes well and at times, tears rolling down my cheeks. The storyline is that touching. =)

Received a random call from my army friends at 10pm and was told that they were in the West to fish and without much hesitation, I decided to join them.

Well, I didn't fish coz I'm never really into fishing. Kind of think it's cruel. Ha

But the catching up was great. Glad to hear that most of my army folks are doing well; one is already in plans with his gf to gettting a flat in Punggol. Kind of miss those days when I was in army with the company of these folks. I'm one of the youngest so they kind of "took care" of me back then. =)

Btw, they were the ones that revised my Mj-ing skills then and all that I could remember was that I paid a decent share of tuition fees. Haha

Anyway, stayed up till 1am before heading home. I do look forward to another impromptu gathering in near future, hopefully not during another fishing event again... aybe MJ sesson?

I've been staying at home for the past few weekends...

Just realized I've been staying in the same place for the past 20 over years. So much has changed... from the new addition of lifts, the new shop tenants, to the new playground...

Nonetheless, there are still some constants... like my neighbors, the POSB ATM, and the 7pm-sure-chirp-like-mad bunch of birds that hovers round the playground... Ha...

Anyway, I'm quite annoyed by a sight that greets me everyday when I return home; a gathering of PRCs by the void deck smoking and at times, sleeping by the public benches... It's quite an unsightly sight to be honest. And it kind of stains the impression of my neighborhood if you are to ask me...

Hopefully the situation will change for the better soon...

Went to TCC for a quick chat and also to finish the little scrap book that my friend has done up for my Japanese penpal. Kind of like a little gift to them for hosting my friend when she was there in June...
