Day 05... 02/08/07

= Day 05

I was so tipsy that I didn’t even write this entry after I got back to hotel yesterday. I am writing it now, on that 6th day. Haha…

Let me recall what we did on the day before. Oh, we went to 北头 for 温泉!

It was a funny experience. I have never been to a hot spring before. At first, it was quite funny but after a while, I got used to it and found myself relaxing under the heat from the hot spring. It was really hot. I was sweating as I was submerged in the water.

Hot spring didn’t take too long. We had our share of “煲汤” before having our tea break at the hotel. After the food, we went on to wait for the shuttle bus that brings us to the 捷运station. However, we realized we got the timing wrong and we have to wait another 45 min should we choose to take the ride.

On second thought, we decided to take a gamble and try to walk our way down. Along the way, we happen to meet this group of 3 students who so happen to be walking towards the station’s direction. They offered to bring us there. Without hesitation, we followed them.

It was interesting to hear what they talked about. Pretty much the same as what secondary students talk about. After this incident, I truly believe that Taiwanese are really friendly and accommodating.

We reached the station in less than 15 min. This helped us to save about one hour of extra time as compared to choosing to wait for the shuttle bus.

Our next stop: 淡水! Heard so much from the folks who visited Taipei that 淡水 is a place that one must visit. And indeed it is! The place is nice. It offers a great view to the horizon. We spent about 2 hours at the place and much of it was dedicated to caricature drawings. We actually did 4 in a row!! Haha…

Our visit to 淡水 ended within 3 to 4 hours before we took train to 剑谭 and headed to 士林 for the second time. I did some last minute shopping again and found myself with one new Bermudas. I even took a photo with the shop assistant who attended me. And, she’s pretty! Hee…

We took a cab home and decided to do a quick wash-up and head for Tu(night club) in Taipei. It was expensive! A guy would cost NT$500 and a lady for NT$100. After some discussion, we
decided to share the cost evenly. = P

The night club was really loud! I guess it is because it is my first so I am not used to it. All I did was to drink. Since I paid such a hefty sum of money, I guess the only way to make up for it is to drink to my fill. I think I must have gotten a little tipsy after the 3rd glass that I thought it was time to stop.

After our brief encounter with TU, we headed to 诚评 Bookshop. Can’t believe I managed to make it there alive. I think our stay there was quite short as we grabbed some books and headed back to hotel and before long, I was zzZZ… clearly zonked!
