Went to catch Money Not Enough 2 at Vivo. Despite not being an advocate for local production, I went for the show. Honestly, the show was great. Though the start of the show was pretty lame, the storyline made up for it.
Many themes were highlighted in the movie both from the macro (ERP, foreign talents etc...) to micro issues(family and partcularly filial piety). I must salute to Jack Neo for being so vocal in expressing his views when it comes to SIngapore's dorminant party, the PAP. It was mentioned Singaporeans love to complain even when mis-treated. I seriously do feel for the statement, especially after the "Soda" incident. If Miss Ow wasn't there, I would had taken the drink and thereafter grumbled about rather than to voice it out. I certainly have much to learn from...
I thought the on-screen camaraderie between Mark Lee and Vivian Lai was commendable. To have a loving wife like Vivian was worth any man to die for. One thing I've learnt, appreciate what we all have and not to take them for granted.
Through the movie, it further reiterated my point that no one should be drunk to the point of no return where hurtful words were rambled. I will always hold this preponderance point close to my heart.
Anyway, my eyes kind of welled towards the end of the show. The casts did a great job in portraying a point which was once widely discussed - sending of our folks to the Old Folks Home. The other issues like taking care of the elderly folks, medical bills etc... were all very realistic too. I believe somewhere down the line, each and everyone of us has to be in their shoes in one way or another. The crux would be how are we going to deal with it.
In summary, I loved the show. Been a while since I had a good laugh. Spend some time to watch it on the big screen if you can spare a moment or two.
Cheers!
P.s: I LOVE MY MUM!
