沉睡的青春... 29/02/08
I finally got to watch <<沉睡的青春>>. I actually bought the novel when I was in Taiwan last year. Read the book but never didn't have the chance to watch it has it is never screened in Singapore. Hym... It was until last night when I decided to source for it online.

Feel so sad after the show. It's a sad love story. ANyway, here's the MV by 杨宗伟 called 多余. Enjoy!

It's growing!!! 28/02/08
Had a chat with Jos' Mum. Hym... I guess all mothers are the same. Their care and concern for their kids. I think Jos is fortunate, very very fortunate.
Had a great dinner with my army folks, mainly Shane, Jia Quan and Thomas. Looking forward to out next meeting! = P
My face is peeling and it is not a good sign.
Holidays are almost over. I realised I have been going out everyday. This is bad!!!
I finally got myself a new toothbrush! Thanx to Veron!
Oh! It's growing! No matter how little it is, it is growing and I am proud of it.
Cheers!

For Veron & MIch... 26/02/08
Here's some tips on how to treat sunburn...
Common home remedies include:
-Aloe: Refrigerate the leaves of the plant, peel off the top layers, and then apply the flesh-exposed side of the leaf directly to the sunburned area. Repeat frequently or as needed. The opened leaf will contain a cooled gel and/or juice that will provide pain relief and reduce the amount of peeling. It is best to keep the burn moist. Aloe can also be purchased in an ointment form.

-Baking soda: Soak the sunburned body is a bath of lukewarm water and half a cup of baking soda. Do not towel dry, this will only cause further irritation. Air-drying is best. The baking soda will help to moisturize the skin and relieve pain and swelling.
-Cucumber: Cucumber is great relieving swelling and redness. Slice cucumber and apply directly to sunburned area and rub gently into the skin.
-Tea: Mint teas such as spearmint and peppermint teas are best. Brew several bags of tea; cool, and then apply the tea directly to the burn. It can be applied using fingertips, cotton balls, or simply sprinkled onto the skin. Using tea as a treatment option can help aid in the healing process because it contains tannin.
-Yogurt: Applying yogurt that contains active cultures can help aid in the redness and reduce pain.
-Apple cider vinegar: To help reduce blistering and peeling of the skin, keep the skin moist by applying apple cider vinegar to the sunburn with a cotton ball.
-Ice: To stop the burning sensation, apply ice directly to the sunburned area.
-Fluids: Avoid dehydration. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of fluids to maintain body moisture.
I think the remedies sound cool but I'm not so sure abt the yogurt and baking soda. Er... Better be safe then sorry so I advise you folks to omit them.
Anyway, my face is still freaking red but I think it is better than the day before.
Till then, speedy recovery!

Jia ying is BACK!!! ...26/02/08
Was in school today when I saw someone who has been missing in my life so a long long time. Hym... I guess it was more like I was spotted though. Anyway, it's my secondary pal, Jiaying!
It was really great to see her. COme to think of it, I kind of miss talking to her. She has been like my personal counsellor back in secondary school days. The moment we met, we had so much to talk and catch up that I managed to cajole her into taking 96 with me when she has planned to take 151. Haha...
Since she has no plans to return to Aus for the time being, I guess we will be meetin up more often expecially when she is working in NUS itself! Woooooooo...
I wonder if she'll ever be my personal counsellor again but no matter what, I will still call her hotline in times of need.
Really happy for her as she is doing very very well. COme to think of it, my folks are all doing well. And that is comforting to know. = )
IN summary, delighted!

singapore airshow 2008... 25/02/08
Wanna thank Veron for giving Mich and I a chance to go to Airshow 2008!!! I actually wanted to go but didn't know they would be interested too until I happened to ask a few days ago. And I guess the free tickets definitely caught me by surprise, a pleasant surprise for sure. = P
Reached Pasir Ris at about 9. It was already packed with people and the queue for the the shuttle bus seemed never-ending. Thanx to Veron, we managed to cut our waiting time. Yes, we cut queue. Haha...
Sleeping at 4 the previous day and waking up at 7 was clearly taking its toil on me as I almost dozed off in the bus. But the excitement over the whole airshow kept me awake somehow.
The place was great! Not going to blog much. Here are the photos!!!
Of cause the star of the show is AIRBUS A380!!
The Airshow was definitely the highlight of the whole event. We managed to capture tonnes of video. SHall post them soon. As for now, settle for these photos!
Really enjoyed myself very much! Hadn't been so happy for a long time! Thanx folks for accompanying me. Here's my 2 favourite photos!
Despite suffering from sunburn, the airshow made it all worth-while. I am looking forward to next year's already! As for the visit to Ai Qing Hai, well, needless to say, MONSTERS were great and this time round they managed to recognise us! Whao!!! Haha... Tired but happy, maybe a little sad over the hectic schedule ahead of me... Still, wanna thank my folks for the Airshow. I seriously enjoyed myself very very much!

Satisfied...22/02/08
I feel satisfied...
I just started teaching my 2 god-sisters. It wasn't meant to be a long-term arrangement, at least to me it wasn't. But I guess things have changed.
Today should be my 3rd time? The point that I wanna bring out is, the youngest gal is showing great improvement! She's only primary 2!
Our lesson is scheduled on every Friday. Everytime when I speak to her in English, she would either reply in Chinese or worst, don't reply at all. But today, she was blabbering away in English. She was basically conversing with me in English! I was told by her elder sister that she actually sat down and practiced what I had taught her.
Come to think of it, I am teaching and learning at the same time. My proficiency in English has never been great especially when it comes to things like pronouns etc... So, the English lesson is more like a revision for me than a proper lesson itself. But I'm really glad she is able to retain the limited English skills that I always attempt to impart to her during each lesson.
As for the elder one, I feel alittle disappointed. 30/50 for her recent maths test was a definitely disheartening to me as I know she is capable of much better result. I questioned and was told that a PRC topped her class with a perfect score.
I was on the very edge of demeaning her when I figured it out it would be better to acknowledge her efforts. And I am glad I did just that.
After going through the paper, she realised her greatest enemy:carelessness has stolen 13 marks from her. It was at that point that she realised she could indeed do much better and when I praised her that 30/50 wasn't too bad a score, she said she will try harder and improve upon in the tests to come.
As I was telling them the need to be discipline, I also figured out that I should be too...
I think I am going to teach them on a regular basis.
Tired...

Dr. Randy Pausch... 20/02/08
Brick walls are there for a reason : They let us prove how badly we want things..
Sometimes we grumble about the things that just don't go the way we planned, frustrated over our paychecks, our better halves, our lives... And we think we are at the bottom of a thousand foot cliff with no help line to call...
Spend a few mins to watch the clip below. I think it is great.
Cheers!

It's been a while for... 18/02/08
It's been a while since I last blogged...
It's been a while since I last took out my Korean txtbk...
It's been a while since I last tided my messy room...
It's been a while since I had a good sleep...
It's been a while since I last had a good chat with my folks...
But of all, it's been a while since I last had a good down-to-earth chat with my parents...
Was up all night trying to cram some school work into my work. I seriously hate the feeling of it and I can't blame anyone but myself. It's the module that I have been least consistent with...
I was glad to have my mum's accompany in the middle of the night when she said she couldn't sleep and offered to cook me some noodles. Thanx Mum!
It has certainly been a while since I last spent time having a decent, much needed chat with them. I think I have been preoccupied with so many other stuff that I seemed to have neglected them... = (
Anyway, they are going on a TW trip this coming May! I would love to join them but I know I can't. Well, my heart will be with your folks ya?! *sob sob* I doubt I will be able to tour anywhere again...
Hym... Dad was on a shopping spree recently. He bought mUm a matchstick watch! I'm so happy for Mum. She is always saving up for us and willing to spurge on us at the expense of herself. I told myself that I would buy her a necklace or bracelet when I get my first pay and I have yet to forget that. Haha... Hopefully that day will come. Still, I think the gift is a wonderful gesture since Dad's and Mum's watches are actually a pair... yes... COUPLE waTCH!! v('o')v

It comes a point in time where you think back what you have done in the past...
I guess I'm at that point in life and I regret some choices that I have made...
In summary, think twice before I act...

It's actually quite good...10/02/08

Just watched I NOT STUPID 2 on channel U... I must say I am pleasantly surprised. Perhaps it is something close to heart and I can relate to it. I am definitely not an advocate of local production but after watching the show, I might just wanna revaluate my stand.
Come to think of it, this is perhaps the second local production that I have watched following the show I DO, I DO back in JC when I won myself a ticket and experienced speed-dating... Haha... Spare me the detials.
One thing that I take away from the movie is the need to look at one's virtues and not just his/hers short-comings.
Just read RF's blog. Get to know that Heath Ledger actually died on Jan 22... Sad...
新年快乐!!! 10/02/08
This year's CNY has been an extra memorable one.
During every 初一,we would visit our grandmother's place before heading on to my cousin's. And this year is no different. The only difference is that my brother decided to join us. In the past, he would go home after visiting my grand's but thanx to me and my mum's cajoling, he decided otherwise.
Glad to have my brother to tagged along as it has been ages since he did so. Moreover, we managed to help mother "earn" some red packet money. Haha... Thanx to my brother, I was exonerated from most of the the questions wrt to BGR etc... Hopefully my bro will come along next year!!!
Glad to catch up with my cousins. Just realised that there are many that I do not know. Hym... I must make an effort to remember them all.
VIsiting didn't end till it was about 6 in the evening. We bought KFC just like every other years for dinner.
Hym... Think my photography skill need a little brushing up. I am going to get a family photo every year startin from this year!!! Maybe I can consider getting Lorraine's cam. It seems so pro with the face recognition thingy...

MJ session is a must and I have done that this year! In fact, I think alittle too much. Haha...
Really happy to get to meet my secondary buddies! My mum remembers them all: Weiyuan, Kent, Phoebe(肥妹), Huiling, Jia ying etc...
So touched when they all also miss visiting my place during CNY in the past. Haha... Ok ok! I shall try to make it a point from next year onwards ya?! = P
Great to hear everyone is doing well. Keep it up!

(Fr right: Wei yuan, Jimmy, Kent, Me, Phoebe n Huiling)

(My 姐妹 from swiss!!!)
Oh!!! I wanna thank Veron and Ah ma for going the extra mile all the time!! Haha One is in charge of organising and the other cooking!! Well, needless to say, Ah ma's cooking is superb, simply delicious! Yummy!!!

Really like this photo very much!!! I was telling Veron that it looks like a real family! There and again, we are in a special way!

yesterday once more... 04/02/08
It is great to relive the days before Ben and Eileen went to Aus to further their the studies: the sporadic trips to JB to feast on Hae2 Bo2, gossip sessions during the wee hours, the impromptu dinners & suppers, exercising and many more...
You wouldn't know you miss someone until he or she has left. Hym... I think I am already beginning to miss them even before they return to Taz. I'm so green with jealousy! A couple for more than 8 years! It's not just about commitments, it's alot more about compromising and accepting your better half. What other better role models than them?
No matter what, live today like there is no tomorrow.
Cheers!

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going... 03/02/08
Looks like I have to take in another tuition assignment, and that being my own cousins. One sec 2 and the other pri 2. Taught them on a irregular basis. Hym... Realised that their biggest problem is English. Afterall, English is used as a medium for teaching so mastering cannot be further emphasized.
I have a really tight schedule! I got to work my butts off!
Oh! It' another 9 months more... Cheers!

LS 123... 02/02/08
I've passed my Life-saving 123! Feel alittle sad that I have to redo my sculling. Since I didn't do it well that time, I guess I can't complain. ANyway, happy to get it over and done with. Hym... BM is starting soon. I'm not sure if I can commit. Will see how it goes...
Last night had my first star gazing activity. Hym... Wasn't looking forward to it since it was in the late evening. I had to wait till about 7 plus. Fortunately I drove yesterday, so it made things much easier for me.
School is picking up. Was looking at my schedule yesterday and I realised I have so so much to do! It's crazy! Argh!!!!
Oh... I have a cut on each of my both feet! Haha... No idea how I managed to hurt myself but I hope they heal soon. Haha...
CNY is rd the corner! After that it's work , work and more work... And guess what, I might have meeting on 初三... *no comments*
