Scam City - Jakarta

Scam City - JKT... my version.

Was in the cab travelling from the airport to my hotel. Had to pay for toll and the driver tried to pull a fast one on me saying the toll fee was IDR 10,000.

I saw the display board which stated the amount to be IDR 5,500 (S$0.55) and I demanded a receipt. The driver reluctantly gave me the receipt and the change.

Although the amount was not much, it was a matter of principle.

Exercise caution with cabbies when in foreign countries.
